Obituaries

AGIUS. On November 13, MARIO, aged 62, passed away peacefully after a long borne illness. He leaves to mourn his great loss his devoted wife Denise, his loving daughter Beverley and her boyfriend Wayne, his wife’s brother Steve Flatt, his brothers Morris and his wife Ginny, Lino and his late wife Maria, and Ronnie and his wife Carmen, his nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, November 15, at 8am for Ibraġ parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

APPLEBY. On November 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN ERNEST, of Sliema, loving widower of Eira and devoted father. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, Simon and Katrine and Timothy and Hema, his grandchildren Asbjorn and Astral, his very dear friend Margaret, his devoted carer Minnie, and other relatives and friends. Service at Holy Trinity church, Sliema, today, Tuesday, November 14, at 2.30pm, followed by burial at Ta’ Braxia Cemetery. Donations if desired to Hospice Malta, Balzan, or Royal Marsden NHS Trust of Fulham Road, London SW3 6JJ. CARABOTT. On November 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, GIOVANNA (Vanna), of Guardamanġia, aged 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her children, Louis and his wife Rina, Jeanette and her husband Tony Mifsud Bonnici, Victoria and her husband Tonio Camilleri and John and his wife Eunice, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Tuesday, November 14, at 1.30pm for Fatima Sanctuary, Guardamanġia, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares, Mater Dei Hospital, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CARBONARO. On November 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLES, aged 68, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Elizabeth, his son Andrè and his wife Lucia, his daughter Maria and her husband Walance Buttigieg Scicluna, his grandchildren Martina, Federica, Timothy, Benjamin and Chris-tina, his brother Joe and his wife Joyce, his sisters Maria, Margaret and her husband Martin Grech and Rose widow of his brother Paul, his brother in-law Ray Zampa and his wife Sylvia and Rose widow of his brother in-law Ronald Zampa, his in-laws in Australia, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Tuesday, November 14, at 1.30pm for the Collegiate parish church of St Paul Shipwreck, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the vaults of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Crucifix at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CURMI. On November 9, in Florence, a day after his 70th birthday, DENNIS, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Deeply mourned by his wife Inna, his children Gayle and her husband Matt and Michael, his grandchildren Sam, Emma and Edward, his sister Carole and her husband Reg Bonnici, his niece Greta and step-son Alex, cousins, relatives and friends. A memorial Mass for the repose of his soul is being said on Thursday, November 23, at 9am at St Patrick’s church, Sliema. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

DALMAS. On November 9, Mgr. JOSEPH DALMAS, former Attard parish priest. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Evelyn, widow of Paul Pavia, Carmen, widow of Ronnie German, Charles and his wife Bice, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral will be held on Friday, November 17. At 1.15pm Mgr. Dalmas will be lying in state in the chapel of St Anne, Attard, until 2pm from where the cortège leaves for St Mary’s parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be concelebrated by Mgr. Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Relatives and friends are requested to attend. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PARNIS. On November 13, Sister ANNE, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, nephews and nieces, her carers and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2.15pm at St Joseph convent, St Dominic Square, Rabat, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Sagra Familja, Żabbar, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

LAFERLA – SIMON. Lovingly remembered by all his family today and always.

SPITERI. Treasured and unfading memories of our dear friend LINO, today the third anniversary of his demise. Sadly missed and forever in our hearts and prayers. Robert and Anna, Jeffrey and Louise and Adriana. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SULTANA. In ever loving memory of MYRIAM on the 13th anniversary of her passing on. Fondly remembered by all the family. Lord, grant her eternal rest. Masses said today at St Patrick’s church, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of her soul.

Anton Tabone’s biography launching

The launching of Anton Tabone’s biography, published by Kite, will be held under the patronage of President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca on Friday.

The launching will be held in the Throne Room of the Palace, in Valletta at 7pm.

Dr Tabone is a former minister, former Speaker and former Acting President.
