The following are the top stories in national newspapers today.

Times of Malta says the police believe evidence gathered during the investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia could help crack previous car bombing cases. It also reports that a change in law a few weeks after the general election permitted the government to obtain permission for a massive shooting range at Ta’ Kandja without a full development application.

L-Orizzont says that the bomb that killed Ms Caruana Galizia was triggered from somewhere out at sea.

In-Nazzjon says that work into the murder has to continue to establish who was the mind and the middleman behind the journalist’s assassination.

The Malta Independent says the Finance Minister has shrugged off questions concerning Nexia BT and Pilatus Bank in the face of the European Parliament’s resolution calling for an investigation into the former’s compliance and the latter’s licencing process, insisting that the newsroom was giving the minister too much importance and that he had faith in the relevant institutions to handle the issue.
