Westin Dragonara Resort receives Green Key award

The Westin Dragonara Resort has received its official Green Key certification, achieving yet another standard of excellence. As positive environmental credentials are becoming more important to travellers when trying to decide on a place to stay, Green Key symbolises the Westin Dragonara’s firm and consistent commitment to the environment and sustainable development.

Isabel Lissner, director at Green Key International, presented Michael Camilleri Kamsky, the hotel’s general manager, with the Green Key flag. Also present for the occasion were MTA chairman Gavin Gulia and Nature Trust Malta president Vincent Attard.

The Green Key flag is in itself a leading standard of excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This prestigious eco-label represents a commitment by the Westin Dragonara Resort that the hotel adheres to the strict criteria as stipulated by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

Upon receiving the official flag, Mr Camilleri Kamsky said: “The Green Key stands for our team’s promise to our guests that by opting to stay at the Westin guests are helping to make a difference on an environmental and sustainability level – which is ever so important.”

The high environmental standards expected of certified establishments are maintained through rigorous documentation and frequent audits.
